You may have seen #teamenertor absolutely smashing their running goals over on Instagram recently. Team Enertor are an amazing inspiring group and here at Enertor HQ we’re proud to have them rep’ing our brand. Natasha was our very first Ambassador of the Month, and here’s an insight into what she’s all about….
When did you start running Natasha? I started really running in July of 2016 when we were at my Aunts lake house for the 4th of July and my cousin asked me if I wanted to run a half marathon with her that coming October.
And what’s your biggest motivation? My biggest motivation stems from the results that I have been seeing over the months of training and exercising. Running helps me mentally focus on life, being a mom, a girlfriend, a friend and just an overall better person. Nothing beats a good run!
Your biggest achievement to date? My biggest achievement to date has been sticking with running even after I completed my first half-marathon last October. I tend to get lazy and unfocused. I also have plans to complete my first full marathon this year. Not sure if that’s the smartest decision I’ve ever made since I haven’t been a runner for that long of a period. Haha
Training for anything big at the mo? Does myself count? Haha Right now my first race is at the end of April. The Columbus Capital City Half-Marathon is what I am currently focused on.
Do you have a training routine or do you just go with the flow? I have tried to incorporate more weight and strength training into my routines to build a little muscle and more stamina. I try to do that 2 days a week and focus on my pace during the week and on the weekends are my long runs and focusing on my time.
What’s your ultimate running goal? Ultimate running goal is to never quit!
Ever suffered any set backs, and how did you overcome them? There are always set backs. Being sick, outside unavoidable circumstances, lack of energy, mentality, injuries. You just gotta tell yourself to push through and if you miss a day or a few days, get right back up and keep going. It’s so easy to just stop and let yourself get discouraged. The hard part is making yourself do it when you feel like throwing in the towel. In one of my classes I was told that it takes 21 days to form a habit. That is always in the back of my head when I’m feeling weak and not motivated.
Best thing about being a part of Team Enertor? Literally the BEST thing about Team Enertor is the amount of support and encouragement everyone gives. There are runners in the group who have achieved more than I probably ever will but no one is ever held at a higher standard or looks down on anyone else. We are all equals and it’s awesome.
How do you like your Enertors? LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM
Your fave runner on social media? To be honest, I don’t really have a favorite runner. All of our team is my favorite.
Fave pre-run fuel? Oatmeal or Peanut butter with an Apple
Fave post-run fuel? Beer haha, Grilled chicken and Kale salad
What do you do when you are not running? When I’m not running, I am currently studying to be a Respiratory Therapist, I am a mom of 1 and a girlfriend to an awesome guy. I try to keep a healthy balance but lets face it, it’s hard haha. Ultimately, running/working out is what keeps me sane and brings me back to my center of focus and discipline.
Any words of advice for your fellow runners? DO NOT EVER LET YOUR HEAD GET IN THE WAY! When you feel like giving up, that’s when you push the hardest. Bad days will always happen but share those and let others help lift you up. Everyone needs an extra boost. On good days, share those as well, because there’s someone who’s having a bad day and needs to see encouragement to get up and get out there! Inspire yourself and you will draw in good from the world. Motivate yourself and that causes a ripple in helping to motivate others.
