4 ways running helps your mental health

Running has been shown to increase the feel-good hormones in your brain, like serotonin and dopamine. These hormones are responsible for the fabled ‘runner’s high’, but even if you don’t completely bliss out while running, there will be a noticeable improvement in your mood.

When you have a regular running schedule, it helps to show yourself that you can meet commitments and achieve goals. They’ll often be in a positive frame of mind themselves which can help to boost your mood.
